What a habit tracker should actually do
A habit tracker is an app that helps you repeat the small things that matter, such as drinking water, going to the gym, reading or waking up early, and shows you whether you did them. The good ones remove friction: they remind you at the right moment, take one tap to log, and show your progress without making you feel bad on the days life gets in the way.
Jeevan is built around that idea. You set a habit once, choose the days it applies, and from then on the Today screen shows only what is due.
What Jeevan tracks
Your own weekdays
Gym Monday to Saturday, reading Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Rest days stay hidden and never break your streak.
Goals you can beat
If your goal is 3000 ml of water and you drink 3250, log all of it. Progress is allowed to go past 100%.
Real alarms
Full-screen reminders at the time you choose, even when the phone is locked.
Streaks and history
See your streak, your best days and your weekly pattern in History and Stats.
Challenges
Join public challenges such as 5 AM Club or Gym Rats and climb a leaderboard.
Health tools
BMI, calories, water, protein, a gym planner and a 1RM calculator, built in.
How to choose a good habit tracking app
There are many habit tracker apps. Before you commit weeks of data to one, check these seven things:
- It matches your week. If you cannot set a habit for only some days, you will either see tasks you cannot do or lose streaks you did not deserve to lose.
- Reminders are reliable. A reminder that arrives late or gets silenced by the phone is worse than none. Look for alarms that ring even on a locked screen.
- Logging takes one tap. If logging takes more than a few seconds you will stop doing it.
- The pricing is clear. Check whether core features such as unlimited habits or reminders sit behind a subscription.
- It respects your privacy. Look for a PIN lock, a clear privacy policy and a way to delete your account and data.
- It works offline. Your habits should not depend on a signal.
- Social features are optional. Friends and challenges help many people stay consistent, but you should be able to use the app alone.
Where Jeevan stands today: it covers all seven points and is free with no ads. It is new, it is Android only, and it does not use AI. We would rather say that plainly than make claims we cannot back up.
A simple daily routine to start with
If you are new to habit tracking, start small. Pick three habits, not ten, and attach each to something you already do.
- Morning: a glass of water as soon as you wake up, then 10 minutes of movement.
- Daytime: one block of focused work or study, with a reminder so it does not get pushed to tomorrow.
- Evening: read a few pages and plan tomorrow in five minutes.
Keep this routine for two weeks before adding anything. Consistency on a few habits beats a perfect plan you abandon on day three.
