The core idea: a fixed block
Choose one daily block, such as 7 to 9 pm, and treat it as an appointment. Predictable timing removes the daily decision of whether to start.
Build it in six steps
- Define the block. Start with 60 to 90 minutes if two hours is too much.
- Choose one task for the block. Decide the topic before you sit down.
- Create a start ritual. Clear the desk, put the phone away, open the book.
- Work in short cycles. 25 to 50 minutes of focus, then a five minute break.
- Review at the end. Write one line about what you finished and what is next.
- Log it daily. Tick the block off the moment it is done.
Handle the hard days
Keep a minimum, such as 20 minutes. Plan a rest day so study does not eat the whole week. If you keep missing a time, move the block rather than blaming yourself.
Study with other people
Jeevan's Gurus challenge asks for two hours of study or project work every day, with a members list, chat and leaderboard. You can also add a friend and agree to log the same block. Read how to stop procrastinating if starting is the hard part.
